MUTUA TO BUILD AIRPORT AT NEW MACHAKOS TOWN

Machakos County Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua approached Nema for approval to build an airport in Machakos town to boost regional trade and tourism. Located at Muvuti-Kiima-Kimwe Ward within the proposed New Machakos town, the Machakos Airport will sit on 104 hectares – about 8.5% of the planned 892-hectare town. The project involves construction of a taxiway, passenger and presidential terminals, as well as a 1.35km runway, and other amenities such as link roads and a water treatment plant. “The runway will be 1350m long and 45m wide. At both ends of the runway, a stop way will be constructed. The runway shoulders will be 7.5m wide and a Runway End Safety Area (RESA) of 180m length and 160m width will be provided at both ends of the runway,” Machakos says in its project report. Kagame For President!

 Popular and celebrated gospel musician Reuben Kigame is set to announce his presidential bid today Sunday 30th May.



Kigame has arranged a press conference with media outlets where he is expected to make ‘’the big announcement’’.


Kigame will be making the announcement at the Kenyatta international convention center KICC, between 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.


Kigame with a little name in politics will be joining a long list of crowded presidential heavyweight among them deputy president William Ruto, ODM leader Raila Odinga, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, former vice president Kalonzo Musyoka, Baringo senator and KANU chairman Gideon Moi, and  Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho among others.


Reuben Kigame a renowned singer, writer, producer, radio presenter, and widely read on Christian apologetics.


Born in Kenya in the early 60s, Reuben is blind yet did not allow this challenge to hinder his desire for learning. He worked through the difficulties of life in rural Kenya to graduate with an honors degree in Education from Kenyatta University.


He lost his companion of many years, Mary, with whom they were in university together and later married, through a fatal road accident.


Reuben is the founder of Fish FM, a radio station dedicated to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. He also founded the Word of Truth Ministries, a Christian apologetics ministry aimed at helping believers get the truth about what they believe and be ready to respond intelligently to challenges from non-Christian or even other Christian quarters about the faith.


He sings mainly gospel songs in Kiswahili and English but has also ventured into country music. He plays guitar and other musical instruments.


Some of Reuben’s hit songs are Ombi Langu, Wastahili Bwana, Usifadhaike, Tulia, Never Alone, Tulia (feat. Sifa Voices), Raw Emotions, Oh Jesus.

See what the Kenyan government is doing along Mau Mau Road

 The government is planning to build four museums on the upcoming Mau Mau road, which links four central Kenya counties, in honour of independence war veterans. The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), which is supervising the 540km road project, has written to stakeholders asking them to identify suitable sites for the museums. KeNHA in partnership with the National Musuems of Kenya and the Gikuyu Council of Elders is expected to erect a museum in each of the four counties where Mau Mau Road passes. The roads agency has formed committees from the respective counties – Murang’a, Nyeri, Kiambu, and Nyandarua – to conduct public participation about the project. The committes are expected to identify suitable locations for the museum based on availability of adequate land and status of ownership of the property. Remarkable progress has been made on the Nairobi Expressway since commencement of its construction with the overall progress now standing at 59.8 per cent. Various actions continue to be taken to improve traffic flow, especially along the JKIA – Mlolongo section. In the meantime the Kenya National Highways Authority has partnered with Kenya Railways to introduce additional wagons effective today to offload travelers from the road. The Kenya railways Management has undertaken to secure all vehicles parked at Syokimau Train Station as the vehicle owners transits to the train enroute to the Central Business District.
