MUTUA TO BUILD AIRPORT AT NEW MACHAKOS TOWN

Machakos County Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua approached Nema for approval to build an airport in Machakos town to boost regional trade and tourism. Located at Muvuti-Kiima-Kimwe Ward within the proposed New Machakos town, the Machakos Airport will sit on 104 hectares – about 8.5% of the planned 892-hectare town. The project involves construction of a taxiway, passenger and presidential terminals, as well as a 1.35km runway, and other amenities such as link roads and a water treatment plant. “The runway will be 1350m long and 45m wide. At both ends of the runway, a stop way will be constructed. The runway shoulders will be 7.5m wide and a Runway End Safety Area (RESA) of 180m length and 160m width will be provided at both ends of the runway,” Machakos says in its project report. Aguero to Barcelona Confirmed!

 Barcelona confirmed Sergio Aguero's arrival with a short statement on their official website. [Click here to view Barcelona Website.]  Aguero will join on a two-year deal, with a handsome buy-out clause inserted to his deal.



"FC Barcelona and Sergio ‘Kun’ Agüero have reached an agreement for the player to join the club from 1 July when his contract with Manchester City expires. 

"The player will sign a contract until the end of the 2022/23 season and his buy-out clause is set at 100 million euros."


Aguero will be presented to the media at a press conference at 6pm, UK time. 



Aguero didn't have the Champions League final send-off he hoped for but Sergio Aguero certainly signed off from the Premier League in style, scoring twice as the champions thrashed Everton 5-0. 


City announced on March 29 that Aguero's contract would not be renewed, ending a 10-year stint at the club, and Pep Guardiola had let slip after the final day of the Premier League that the Nou Camp was his likely destination.

"Maybe I reveal a secret. Maybe he is close to agreeing a deal for the club of my heart - for Barcelona," Guardiola said. "He is going to be playing alongside the best player of all time, Messi." 


Aguero joined City from Atletico Madrid in 2011 and went on to score 260 goals for the club, none more important than the stoppage-time strike which sealed the 2012 Premier League title.

Remarkable progress has been made on the Nairobi Expressway since commencement of its construction with the overall progress now standing at 59.8 per cent. Various actions continue to be taken to improve traffic flow, especially along the JKIA – Mlolongo section. In the meantime the Kenya National Highways Authority has partnered with Kenya Railways to introduce additional wagons effective today to offload travelers from the road.
