Legendary Cristiano Ronaldo was not part of the Juventus starting XI of the final game against Bologna. This left football fans worldwide awestruck as to why the ever present Juventus forward was missing.
According to the club’s Chief Officer, Fabio Paratici, Cristiano was left out because he has played too much in the recent games.
Due to the magnitude of the game, a-few eyebrows were raised as to why the legendary striker was left out of Andrea Pirlo’s starting XI.
The forward has been criticized in some quarters this season but he will still finish as Serie A top scorer this season.
Explaining his omission to Skysports Italia [Via Fabrizio Romano] Paratici stated; “Cristiano is not injured. We’ve played a lot of games in the last few days.Wednesday was a very expensive match. Together with Pirlo we’ve decided that he won’t be starting tonight, but he is available.
Over the past eight days, Ronaldo played 70 minutes of the 3-2 win over Inter as well as the entirety of the Coppa Italia triumph over Atalanta.
The decision to drop him from the squad is a bold one. If it does not pay off, Pirlo could face a sack with the legendary midfielder enduring a tough first season as a Juventus manager.
Well despite having one more year left in his contact deal, Ronaldo’s future at Juventus is uncertain.
